about the bonner program

The Bonner Program at Wagner is grounded in civic engagement and college access initiatives, provides students with opportunities to get involved within campus, Staten Island, and New York City.

Participants commit to civic engagement work, skill development and reflection based seminars, and service trips each year. Participants receive financial support for their efforts. In addition, the program helps to create a collaborative campus culture through its unique, four-year cohort model.

The National Bonner Foundation seeks to fulfill the Bonner Network’s mission to provide diverse, low-income, under-represented, and first generation students with the opportunity to attend college, while engaging their talents and educations in building and supporting communities. As participants in the program, Bonners have access to this national network through conferences, program visits, and planning committees.
